Due only to the strong hand of God the children of Israel have been freed from Egyptian bondage. They have traveled through the wilderness to the Red Sea. Having crossed the Red Sea in a single night. Pharaohs complete army is destroyed by the Lord casting them in and drowning them all. As Israel stands on the far shore they are taught a new song not of a slaves sorrow, not about the death of their pursuers. Nor was it about their new found freedom.
The new song Moses and the Israelites would sing was about their God. You see this single event in time is a most significant event indeed. God has chosen this event to be crucial to understanding God, His will and our relationship to Him Exodus 15:2
God is the strength of Moses and Israel and all who will name the name of God. Not just a supplier of might but one who can overcome all evil to the people of God.

God is the Salvation of Moses, Israel and all who are called by His name. God had a purpose for Israel. They were to be the Holy nation from which His Son and Savior could spring forth. Equally He has a purpose for His disciples. This purpose can only be realize through the salvation of serving the only true and living God.
