Tina and I are thankful to be back from our vacation. We do appreciate all who filled in so admirably for us while we were gone. A big thank you to Reynard, David, George and Peter.

Proceeding through the book of Exodus we come upon the twentieth chapter with the commandments for the Israelites given at Sinai. Commonly called the 10 commandments they were laws to govern the relationships of the Jewish people.

Basically, there were two groups, the first four their relationship with Jehovah. The last six relationship with their fellow man.

While it can certainly be noted that nine of these commandments are a given part of the New Testament there is one that is not. Perhaps there is something we can learn from the Forgotten Commandment. It is the one concerning the Sabbath day and keeping it holy.

There is little doubt this was a day the Jewish people was to hold in holy stead. Similarly the First day is the day Jesus set aside in the New Testament. But that being said we can gain a great deal for our study today of these passages.

Come with us as we seek to understand the Sense of the Lord that day was to have for the Israelites. To note it was not just about resting put also about Sweating the other days of the week. Finally, we will examine the Slumber commanded in this direction from God.

We can and will be greatly blessed today by studying God’s Holy word and seek to understand the reasons behind them.
