Today we are celebrating the freedom we have in this country. While the adoptions of the Declaration of Independence may not have been the first act in support of freedom in this country it is, by far that which we recognize as the basis of our freedom.

Today we are reading the Declaration of  Independence. Our forefathers saw that law was the base of any country. Without law a country cannot and will not last.

Centuries ago God knew this as well. We see the laws of God given to various   peoples through out the Old & New    Testaments. Today we will be focus our thoughts on 2 Peter 2:18-19 for an better understanding concerning freedom and the law.

It is easy for a society to say because we have freedom of …. We don’t need laws, or police or armies. Yet it is the laws which grant us the freedoms we have and police who enforce said laws and   armies  which ensure we continue        enjoying our freedom.

Indeed freedom goes hand in hand with responsibility and accountability. Indeed Six of the Ten commandments are concerned directly with relationship between people when they get to the promised land.

God cares we are good people and has always given us laws where by we are to live.  He has said we may not rob, steal, covet, lie and      murder. The people of God will not please God or long endure who ignore these parts of Gods laws nor will a society.

A society can endure even though some may violate His law but it is destined to fall when it Calls good evil and Evil Good.
