Let me tell you something incredible today—something that has puzzled people for generations but has been revealed clearly to you. I’m talking about what Paul called “The Mystery” in Ephesians 3. Not the kind of mystery like Stonehenge or Amelia Earhart or Area 51—no, this is the eternal mystery of God’s purpose for humanity. And unlike those unsolved riddles, this mystery is one God wants you to understand. He wrote it down. He made it clear. And He invites you to open your eyes and see it.
This mystery isn’t hidden anymore. Paul said it was revealed to him by Jesus Christ Himself, and he wrote it so you could read it—and understand it. You don’t need a degree or some secret insight. You just need a heart that’s willing to open the Word of God. The Bible isn’t confusing or closed off. It’s God’s own explanation of His eternal purpose—and He gave it to you.
So what is the mystery? That through Jesus Christ, both Jew and Gentile—all people—can be saved, be one body, and be partakers of the same promise. That means you can be part of God’s family, His inheritance, His body—the church. That was His plan from before the world even began. That’s not a side idea in Scripture—it’s the centerpiece of it.
This mystery has meaning for your life. It tells you that you matter. That you’re not an accident. That God has a purpose for you that’s bigger than a job or hobby or paycheck. He wants you to be part of the church—not just as an attendee, but as a vital part of His body. A living, breathing example of His grace and wisdom to a watching world.
I know the world offers all kinds of causes to support—education, healthcare, the arts. But God’s cause is the eternal one. It’s the one that outlasts this life. It’s the one that redeems souls and changes destinies. He’s calling you not just to give your money—but to give yourself to His purpose.
So I ask you: Do you understand the mystery? Have you embraced it? Are you in Christ, part of His church, living His purpose?
Don’t leave this mystery unsolved in your life. Open the Word. Read. Believe. Obey. And live the life you were created for.
While there are some things we may not know on this side of time, what God wants for us is a concept meant to be understood. God has given us His Word so that we can understand what He has in mind for us. Join Neal Pollard as he discusses Ephesians 3 and what Paul calls “the mystery.”
