I want to remind you of something that is easy to overlook but impossible to replace: love is the more excellent way. I’ve shown you gifts, abilities, knowledge, even faith that can move mountains, but I’m telling you plainly, if I do not have love, I am nothing. If I speak, serve, sacrifice, or even suffer without love, it profits me nothing. Without love, all I am doing is making noise, empty, hollow, meaningless noise.

I need you to see how deeply this matters in your everyday life. When I teach, when I speak, when I serve, if I do it without love, it loses its value. Love is not optional; it is essential. Even knowledge, when it stands alone without love, can do harm instead of good. And I must warn you, just like the church at Ephesus, you can be busy, faithful, and hardworking, yet still fall because you have left your first love.

So let me show you what love really looks like. I’m not speaking in vague ideas—I’m giving you something you can measure yourself against. Love is patient; I endure even when it’s hard. Love is kind; I choose to help, not harm. I do not envy, I do not boast, and I refuse to be consumed with pride. I do not act rudely or put myself above others. I control my temper, I refuse to assume the worst, and I do not take pleasure in someone else’s failure. Instead, I rejoice in truth.

I bear with others. I believe the best. I hold on to hope. I endure, even when it costs me. This is the life I’m calling you into, not a feeling, but a way of living that reflects Christ Himself.

And here is what I need you to understand most: everything else will pass away. Gifts will cease. Knowledge will fade. Even faith and hope will one day give way to sight and fulfillment. But love, love never fails. Love remains. Love endures forever.

So I’m asking you to examine yourself honestly. Does your life reflect this kind of love? When you deal with people, friends or enemies, do you walk in this more excellent way? Because without love, your efforts mean nothing.

I’m calling you to something greater. I’m calling you to walk in love, the very way of Jesus.
