The Church of Christ …. Music
Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
When visiting the Church of Christ you will find the sweet sound of music in the form of congregational singing.
Certainly, no one would disagree God has instructed (even commanded) the use of singing in the worship service. Since the beginning of the Christian age (Hebrews 11:1-2) all churches everywhere have sang as a way to worship God. Our companion passage to the one above is Ephesians 5:17-20 and are the only two scriptures given in the New Testament that specify the music God wants to be worshipped with.
God created human being and their voice and expects us to use them in the worship of Him.
Further proof is conveyed in the fact the church used exclusively the human voice to worship God in the first century, (under the Apostles) & for several centuries beyond.
As we cannot be certain any other kind of music is acceptable to God why would anyone want to risk making up a worship that is unacceptable to God.
