The Church of Christ …. Worship
The church of Christ holds the bible as our only guide to our lives. Certainly, “rightly dividing the word of truth” is central to the Christian life.
Worship of God is not about us, it is all about God. John 4:24 “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
Of the truths expressed in this passage none is greater or more profound than “God is Spirit.” The true worshippers must realize this in order to render acceptable worship unto God.
In our culture today “spirit” is often equated with sporting event or some sort of entertainment. The one who cheers the loudest or claps the longest has “spirit.” As a result “spirit” is to often thought to be enthusiasm expressed.
Yet God is more than simple emotions let free and our worship must be more than that as well. God is everywhere, all the time. He is all knowing and all powerful. His righteousness can not be compared and His love is immeasurable.
Equally when we worship God is must be with all we are and as He sees fit. In the articles to come we will explore honest, sincere worship of God. Suffice it here to say, our worship must be acceptable to God or it is simply entertainment.
