The Church of Christ …. Prayer

1Th 5:17 pray without ceasing,

Christians pray everywhere all the time. You see them in line at the grocery, over meals in              restaurants, at stop lights, sporting events, alone and in groups to name a few.

A person might conclude with all that praying going on, Christians must be very good at it. Of a truth many are very proficient in their prayers offered to God.

In life skill often comes from repetition. The constant use of something is usually what we call practice, and it can make one very good at the thing being repeated over and over again.

Yet it is not the frequency of prayer that makes one prayers acceptable unto God. Constantly repeating a prayer, especially the same prayer over and over again is called vain repetition Matthew 6:7.

James 5:16…The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.  The effective prayer is one first offered by a righteous man and offered in such a way as to have power at its core. That which is not believed can never come to fruition.

A praying Christian, who know his prayers are heard beyond the rafters, is first sincere, and respectful and diligent in all communication with God.
